About Us

The Madeleine Trio

How it started...

The Madeleine Trio (formerly known as Triple Entendre) began in 2011 with three former students from CSU Fullerton. They met as graduate and undergraduate students and performed many times as a flute, oboe, and piano trio. Although personnel has changed over the years, the main focus of the chamber group and the repertoire has always been focused on pieces written for this instrumentation. This unusual combination has been written for by many notable composers across the classical music eras and we always enjoy playing pieces that are diverse in time periods, styles, and genres.

Our audiences have been large and small as our trio has performed in many venues across Southern California - from colleges and universities to public and private libraries, to museums, churches, and theaters. Our audiences have expressed their "surprise" that our sound is not too treble and that the combination is "refreshing". We have also had many people express thanks that we engage with our audience when performing as opposed to having the audience just be observers. We do enjoy sharing interesting background about the pieces, composers, or origins of the works during our performances.

Be a part of our continuing story!

We all love to perform live music and our fondest wish is to share our love for it with anyone who is open and willing to listen! Please feel free to subscribe to our email list and/or contact us if you'd like us to perform in your community! If you'd like to book us, please click here.
